Burn Notice "Necessary Evil"

This is my first review of Burn Notice, and well, any other show. This should be fun.

The Return 2

Second scene from Man: The Return.

CHUCK Finale set, No Awake for NBC

NBC midseason schedule; CHUCK finale set, no Awake

NBC has set CHUCK'S series finale (number 6, I believe) for January 27, marking an end for the 'little show that could'.  It's actually pretty amazing that CHUCK has made it this far after surviving a shortened first season thanks to the writer's strike, a major budget cut after the season two (and every subsequent season), and backlash on major plot points (Shaw!!) as well as inconsistent writing thanks to the continuous back orders. Though sad that it's ending, it's actually a relief for many CHUCK fans, myself included, to see the show go out on its own terms in a way.

The other news is NBC leaving off the dark drama Awake starring Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy, Harry Potter franchise) and Wilmer Valderrama (Fez, That 70s Show).  Rumor has it that the drama, where a man in a car wreck experiences two seperate realities where in one his wife survives and the other son except he doesn't know which is reality and which is a dream, could be too dark for network TV. It's a pity really, because the theatrical trailer for it is amazing and paints what could be an amazing story and series, not to mention that Isaacs is just awesome.  I guess we'll see if it makes the summer schedule.

The Return

INT. DARK ROOM - NIGHT

A man, DR KYLE MILLER, stands facing a window, the night sky shining through it.

SMOKE slowly rises above his head, most likely from a cigarette.
He stands there staring at the night sky.
The silence is broken by a question from an unseen person.

INTERVIEWER (OS)
Dr Miller?

KYLE slowly turns his head to the left, stopping at what looks like it being half-cocked.

Smoke BELLOWS from his mouth.  ZOOM IN on mouth.

INTERVIEWER (OS)
Would you like to start from the beginning?

KYLE smirks slightly.

KYLE
Which beginning?

INTERVIEWER (OS)
Whichever makes you more comfortable.

KYLE brings a CIGARETTE to his mouth and takes another drag.

He turns his face back to the window, staring at the night sky.

Smoke RISES agins above his silhouette.

KYLE
It's not about comfort. It's about what
you want the people to know.

INTERVIEWER (OS)
What do you mean?

KYLE
I mean there's more to this story than
the war we just fought.
   (beat)
More to the story about who we are as
humans... as people.

INTERVIEWER (OS)
Start with recent events. We can fill in
from there.

KYLE
As you wish.

KYLE takes one more dragging, letting the smoke rises above him again.

KYLE
On a cold night in December, the fate of mankind, the world, changed.
